Howdy,
I just wanted to provide context as to whom I as an individual am because since this is mostly a political response blog I wanted to show you who I am and how I came to have my opinions.
Since I'm good with spreadsheets I'll basically do that format and I invite ANY future readers to ask questions delving further into who I am(and I'll try to respond/make a blog post about it).
Ethnicity: Chilean(Father)/Polish(Mother)- both immigrants
Languages: English(Well), Polish(manageable), Spanish(good, not expert), French(poor)
Family Trade: Private practice for doctor of internal medicine(I've handled some of the computer networking but I ain't no doctor)
Parents: Separated emotionally but non-divorced- jointly raising children. We're good stock genetically.
Siblings: younger sister(15)
My education: Biology major and Chemistry minor from the college of william and mary
Places lived: Queens, NYC(ages 0-11), Olean, NY(11-12), Norton, VA(12-16.5), Richmond, VA(~16.5-24), Williamsburg, VA(~18-23). The ~ eludes to having had my own place in Williamsburg as a student and having had moved back and fourth from my familial home.
Sexual orientation: straight. Half my immediate family of 4 people total are homosexuals. I won't divulge who is what but frankly that's their business and not something anyone has any right to know without their consent.
Political leanings: Liberal with twinges of what some would identify as right wing extremism
Political Views Held over lifetime: Totalitarian communism, Democratic conservative, Democratic Liberal, Social Liberal, Socially Liberally leaning moderate, Extremist similar to socially liberally leaning moderate
Social government policy: Liberal
Fiscal government policy: moderate, mostly liberal based off beliefs in social aid programs but both corporate and welfare-esque entitlement reform needed
Ideal Government form: currently non-existent, would be a parallel of current electoral college system but instead of current 3 branches of government be a congregation of multiple committee's of experts- democratically elected aristocracy electing multiple competing interest groups.
Views on current state of politics: depressed but functional, largely due to disconnect between politicians and reason. A history/government/law degree should be required context for politicians in addittion to fields of expertise. Law, history, and government function are "duh" levels of context for politicians and should be information expected of experts in REAL fields(biology, economics, chemistry, physics, etc) and not a fucking route into politics themselves.
Religious leanings: raised catholic, I attend church approximately bi-weekly but don't attend a single church or denomination's services- I use church as a means to volunteer in the community since they often have some venues to go out and help the less fortunate. That being said I'm a struggling faithful, I believe in a higher power though it is difficult to bind any deity/deities whom humans claim to understand to rules we as human beings arbitrarily decide including the state of their mortality. If you want a real label I'd say belief leaning agnostic despite the fact I feel anyone of any faith should struggle with a logical paradox from the moment they wake till they die.
Hobbies: politics, building gaming computers, animals, my wonderful girlfriend, alcohol, video games, shooting guns, philosophy, coffee, reading, good music(Underground/politically motivated rap/hip-hop, rock/metal that has legible lyrics, club music that isn't just blasting bass nonstop- which disqualifies a LOT of dubstep, a sliver of country/folk)
